🤝 Honest data, clearly labelled

Pinterest does not publish official keyword search volumes — no tool can show you the “real” number. Our figures are estimates based on Google Ads data, always labelled “Est.”, so you can compare keywords fairly and plan with your eyes open. Trend data shows relative interest over time. We would rather show you an honest estimate than a fake exact number.

Questions, answered

Is the Pinterest Keyword Finder really free?

Yes. The extension is free to download and use, including volume checks through the Ranker Reach server. It is our way of giving back the tool we wished existed when we started Pinterest marketing.

Where does the volume data come from?

From Google Ads keyword data, returned through our server when you run a check. Pinterest itself publishes no official volumes, so figures are estimates — always labelled “Est.” in the tool.

Do I need an account or my own API keys?

No. The public version works out of the box — no sign-up and no API keys. (Advanced users can optionally connect their own data account in Settings.)

Is my research data private?

Yes — the extension is local-first. Your keywords, projects and history are stored in your own browser, not on our servers. Only the keyword text of a volume check is sent to fetch its numbers. See our Privacy Policy.

Which browsers does it work in?

Google Chrome and other Chromium browsers (Edge, Brave, Opera) that support Chrome extensions.

Can I use it for client work?

Absolutely — that is what the branded PDF client report is for. Agencies and freelancers use it to plan and present Pinterest strategies.
